You will be riding on a fully loaded Master craft X Star if you like your wake beefy or we can make it friendly to anyone by flicking a couple of switches to drop the weight out and reveal a sweet mellow wake. If you wish you can stay in our amazing lakefront house soaking up one of the best wakeboarding experiences around.

So with a freezing March barely behind us there we were back at Sallochy Bay on Loch Lomond for the first Uni camping trip of the season! In their unfaltering commitment to getting more people involved in our sport, the Loch Lomond Wakeboard guys managed to set up a ridiculous deal for the Uni crew to give them maximum riding time over the weekend, and despite some horrific hangovers on the second day everyone made the most of their time on the water!

2011 sees a change of home for Loch Lomond Wakeboard- they are now situated at the Rowardennan Hotel just five minutes away from the Sallochy Bay site; although access to the hotel bar was not the primary reason for the move, I’m pretty sure it was fairly high on the list along with access to fantastic accommodation and the installation of a LPG tank (which means far less fuel stops)!

In the words of club social secretary Doug, “in Scotland, we make the most of whatever it is we get”. And it’s true; whether it’s squeezing every last second of riding out of ten minutes of flat water between rain and boat-launching chop, or having a natter on the phone with Raymond to see what wakeboard package he can put together to suit you, flexibility goes a long way in this country!

What’s more, after some pretty intense will we’s/won’t we’s, we can also announce that we’re going to be based at a brand spanking new location by The Rowardennan Hotel, just a short hop further up the loch from Sallochy Bay.

We’re chuffed with the move and have some great plans lined up for this new location over the next few months so keep your eyes peeled for more news.

PRINCE Gordy will have his stag do at sea – taking part in a variety of extreme watersports, The Moon can reveal.

Brother Raymondo is planning the bash at which Gordy will let his hair down before marrying Sam Filsell in April.

The royal groom to be and 20 pals will enjoy a day of off-shore thrills and spills, racing speedboats and wakeboarding and might try water-skiing in a mankini.

Then the party will go on an evening pub crawl – by boat. Raymondo, 26, held secret talks with one of Britain’s top watersports firms (must have been talking to himself), which specialises in stag and hen parties.

The firm, based on the bonny bonny banks of Loch Lomond, promises fun for clients of all ages and abilities. It has a range of equipment, including a brand new Super Air Nautique 210, wakeboards, waterskis, ringos, wake skates and wake surf boards.

Booze is banned while stag groups are on the water (phone for details). But the day ends with a trip up a nearby estuary (no pun intended) to visit a string of pubs and restaurants accessible only by boat.

The firm will also lay on a barbecue, cooked by head chef Igho Bowes.

The total cost of the bash is not anticipated to exceed £99 per head. Gordy and his party are expected to stay at a nearby country cottage belonging to a pal (yes, he’s got one) and will get 3 wakeboard lessons from one of our guest pro coaches.

For Gordy, 28, it offers a perfect solution to the dilemma of how to mark the end of his bachelor days. The future wakeboard king is determined to party before tying the knot with Sam, 29 (not her real age).

But he fears a night out will be ruined by hangers-on, paparazzi or Scottish Stu.

He told Raymondo to forget going anywhere abroad. A weekend at a friend’s ski chalet in the French Alps has been ruled out as it’s expensive, so 1980’s & isn’t a trendy “staycation”

A senior Royal source (Pete Hall) said a watersports weekend was “entirely plausible”. Another source (Jack “the hammer” Hammersley) said: “The watersports weekend is a perfect option. They can let their hair down without worrying about who is around.”

A Clarence House spokesman said: “A stag party (or hen night) at Loch Lomond Wakeboard will be the weekend of all weekends.”

That’s correct Loch Lomond Wakeboard comes to the rescue, some might say we wasted perfectly flat water by churning out a 3 foot wake but those people were not involved in the revolution that was LLW V’s Loch Stock first Wakesurf of the year. Read below to see what the Loch Stock crew said.

In a bid to become Scotland’s hottest pro wakesurfers, four spritely young groms took to the water on Sunday and ripped the hell out of the LLWB Wakesetter’s pumping wake. In a session for the history books Guy Davidson, Jimbo MacKay, Gordy Forsyth and myself spent the afternoon throwing down monster cutbacks, floaters and even some toes-off noseriding! Wakesurfing north of the border took a giant leap forward on Sunday, we’re just waiting for the sponsorship to start rolling in! Keep your eyes open for “Loch Surf- the home of Scottish Wakesurfing”; there’s even talk of LLWB investing in a surf dedicated boat, which will only have seats on one side… crazy! I have recently realised just how awesome owning an Estate car is, I have been driving a sweet Passat for approx 2 months now, including a snowboard trip to Chamonix and Alpe D’Huez in France. But why are these majestic beasts so amazing? I will tell you why: on a regular driving day I will usually only possess one open beverage, but should the occasion arise my estate car can easily mobilise up to four potentially hot infusions, utilising its suitably placed front and rear cup holders. This is fantastic news for the liquid refreshment connoisseur such as myself. Further to this should you require to charge more than one item using a cigarette lighter socket, you’re totally covered with the Passat. This is unlikely you might say, as I being a crafty consumer chose a Blackberry over the poorly powered iphone, but a situation may still arise one day where this function will be necessary, who will be laughing then???

To conclude, the estate car driver is by far the smartest of all road users whether it’s a weekend at Loch-Stock or a trip to Tescos, you’re sure to be satisfied with the practicality and prestige of an estate car.

Both boats were running with James Hooper and Dave Knight coaching non-stop all weekend, big thanks guys! Loch Lomond Wakeboard’s new 2010 demo boards were available to try out courtesy of Liquid Force and O’Brien.

Energy levels were running high due to a constant supply of Relentless energy drinks and the Bonnington Lane Studios DJs playing a mix up of mellow beats. Families and passers-by enjoyed the day’s event, hanging about in the club house drinking tea and the odd beer. The evening’s events included a moonlight winch gap rail session and a large scale bonfire which kept the spectators toasty.

The weather was awesome all weekend and has got the season off to a fine start. Lots of riders signed up for the Loch Stock Tour as the early bird prices run out on Monday 17th May, so get signed up! The atmosphere at LLWB is great every weekend, come along and see for yourself or drop in mid-week for a ride and a BBQ.
